How it works
The Youd-Andrews CXO Business Conversations Simulator is a high intensity, experiential learning environment that as closely as possible replicates real-life engagements with the upper management echelons of large businesses.
- The simulator uses a real business case as a construct that lays out a wide range of opportunities, risks, challenges and goals of a typical business, including annual reports, market focus and penetration, technology landscape etc.
- Within the simulator you and your team will conduct a series of meetings with C-level executives (CMO, CIO, CFO, COO…). These executives are not actors or trainers, nor are they working from a script or a pre-determined outcome. They are current or recently retired C-Suite leaders with global experience, who just as in real life are trying to position themselves and their company for growth, profit and success.
- CXOs are familiar with the business case and will interact with you during the meeting as they would in real life. Following each meeting you will receive and be able to probe the CXO's perspective, feedback and coaching - the one thing you don’t get to do in real life.
Your Team
You will be grouped with colleagues to form a team of 4-6 people.
- You will participate in at least 2 meetings; 1 as the lead, the other in a supporting role.
- When you are not participating in a meeting you will be present as a silent observer. Your responsibility will be to form a perspective of the meeting and provide constructive feedback that contributes to the learning and success of the team.

6Cs Framework
The 6C framework developed by CXOs from across a wide-range of industries differs from most sales training in that it is not process driven. Instead, it is a methodology that properly and consistently applied will help you have meaningful and valuable conversations with senior managers. You will use the framework to prepare for the Simulator and as a guide for your executive meetings in the Simulator.
- Use the 6Cs in preparation so that you are in the CXO's context.
- Use the 6Cs to develop and articulate a business value proposition rather than a product value proposition.
Financial Acumen
This component of the Simulator won't turn you into a CFO or CPA, but it will serve as an introduction to the "language of finance" - the language CXOs use to express how well the company is executing against plan and objectives. In the Simulator you will:
- Use this language to frame your value proposition in terms meaningful to CXOs.
- Quantify your value proposition in terms that relate to the health and wealth of the business.
